Do you work alongside our builder or architect?
Yes. We're used to working as part of a wider project team, fitting our first and second fix around the build programme and coordinating with other trades so everything comes together smoothly.
What's the difference between first fix and second fix?
First fix is all the pipework, drainage and heating pipes that go in before the walls and floors are closed up, tested and pressure-checked before boarding. Second fix is fitting everything you actually see and use, the taps, sanitaryware, radiators, boiler and appliances, once the rooms are ready. We handle both.
Can you re-plumb a whole house during a renovation?
Yes. On older properties we often strip out tired, outdated pipework and re-plumb the whole house to a modern, reliable standard as part of the renovation. It's the ideal time to do it, while things are already opened up.
What is a plumbing survey and do I need one?
A plumbing survey is an honest assessment of a property's plumbing and heating, useful whether you're buying or selling. For buyers it tells you what you're taking on before you commit; for sellers it heads off surprises during the buyer's survey and adds confidence to your sale. We flag any issues clearly, with no jargon.
Do you handle off-grid and oil-heated new builds?
Yes. We're OFTEC registered as well as Gas Safe registered, so for rural, off-grid builds across Somerset, Devon and Dorset we can install oil-fired heating and oil tanks alongside the rest of the plumbing.
