Central heating questions, answered
Do you work on oil heating systems as well as gas?
Yes. DC Plumbing and Heating are OFTEC registered, which means they're qualified and authorised to work on oil heating systems and oil tanks. Particularly relevant for rural properties in Somerset and Devon not on mains gas.
Is my oil tank compliant?
Having a safe, compliant oil tank protects your home, ensures your system runs efficiently and keeps you covered by your insurer, who may refuse claims if your tank isn't up to standard. DC Plumbing and Heating offer oil tank inspections and can advise on any remedial work needed.
How do I know if my system needs power flushing?
Common signs include cold spots on radiators, the system taking a long time to heat up, or your boiler working harder than usual. A power flush clears sludge and debris and can make a significant difference to efficiency.
How much does a new central heating system cost?
Every quote comes with three clearly priced options: Basic, Standard and Premium, all VAT included. Daniel will visit to assess your property before providing a quote.
Can you add radiators to my existing system?
Yes. Additional radiators can usually be added to an existing system. Daniel will check whether your boiler has sufficient capacity before recommending any work
Do you provide landlord gas safety certificates?
Yes. Annual Gas Safe CP12 inspections and certificates for landlords. These are a legal requirement for any rental property with gas appliances.
